1. When did you start writing?

I’ve been writing for over twenty years, turning my love of storytelling into stories centered around love, healing, family, and second chances.

I’m a native of Chattanooga, and many of my stories are inspired by Southern culture, family roots, and emotional journeys.

I primarily write contemporary romance, women’s fiction, and emotionally driven relationship stories. Under my pen name, E H Shepherd, I also write young adult and dramatic fiction.

E H Shepherd allows me to explore different storytelling styles and characters while still staying true to emotionally layered stories that readers can connect with.

Life experiences, family dynamics, personal struggles, faith, love, forgiveness, and the resilience of everyday people inspire many of my books.

While my books are fictional, many emotions, situations, and relationships are inspired by real-life experiences and observations.

I wanted to write a story about returning home—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

No, but the emotional themes and relationships reflect experiences many readers can relate to.

Tied Up In Beau follows Beautiful Kierra Jackson (“Beau”) as secrets, danger, identity, and unexpected love collide after a life-changing discovery.

17. Which character was the hardest to write?

Usually, the characters carrying the deepest emotional pain are the hardest—and most rewarding—to write.

A little of both. I often begin with an emotional premise and allow the characters to help shape the story as it unfolds.

Yes! I’m always working on new projects and upcoming releases, including INFINITY: Time Without End.
